Monique’s Personal Story: IBS- “it’s like when I try to get a hold of it, it just gets worse”
Lord where do I start? I’m 28 years old. I’ve been living with IBS since I was about 17 years old. Officially diagnosed at 18. I thought I got rid of it a couple of times. But it always comes back. The constipation sucks. I once had a bowel blockage and almost had to have surgery. Let me just say that one hurt. I have severe anxiety which makes my IBS worse. I can’t leave my house without thinking about going to the bathroom. Will I get to one in time? Will the place I’m going even have a bathroom? My husband wants to go camping, guess that’s out. My husband wants to travel. Guess you’re going without me honey. I fear for when my kids start sports. I’m going to be the most disappointing mother ever. This “condition” has ruined my life. And it’s like when I try to get a hold on it, it just gets worse. I’m at a loss. So good freaking luck if you have this.
